How to Import a Boss

When you download a boss, you'll get a .json file, which contains all the boss data.

To play the boss you just downloaded, follow these steps:

  • Open the "Create" menu in the app.
  • Tap "Import" and choose a slot (this will overwrite any existing boss in that slot).
  • Press "Select" next to "Boss file" and find the .json file you downloaded.
  • If the boss has custom images or music, they'll download automatically.
  • If the boss includes a packed resource file (zip), you can add it here too.
  • Go back to the menu and find your boss in the selected slot.
  • Press "Play" to start the battle or "Edit" if you want to modify it.

Exporting and Sharing Battles

When you've created your own battle, it's more fun to share it with others!

To share your battle, you first need to export it. Here's how:

  • Press the "Export" button in the editor for your boss.
  • Make sure you've set a boss name and your creator name before exporting.
  • Export the .json file.
  • If your boss has custom music, sprites, or backgrounds, export the resources as well.
  • Exporting resources will zip all your files into a single file for easy sharing.

How to Share Your Battle

Now that you've exported your battle, you have two ways to share it:

  • Send the files to a friend, so they can import and play your boss.
  • Upload it to the BattleTale website to share it with everyone.

To upload your boss, go Here. Note that you must be logged in to upload a boss.
